Born London 1963 .
As a young man John de Pauley embarked on an apprenticeship in stonemasonry.
Rooted in the discipline of carving and restoration he has worked on some of the Nation ‘s most
important buildings of architectural and historic significance. His rigorous training underpins hiswork today, combining classical elements with the abstract and the unexpected.
His directly carved pieces emerge from the rich textures and colours of Stone + Marble,
predominantly quarried from South West England where he has lived for over 30 years.
